SoWa_Market-2

Coulter and I drove to an open market in Boston this past Sunday.  The SoWa market is open every Sunday, May –October,  10:00 am– 4:00pm.  We arrived at 10am and were lucky, because an hour and half later, it was PACKED.  It’s  located near the Boston Sports Club and we parked in this incredible abandoned factory next store, while a boot camp session was being held right outside.  I am talking massive boot camp where the instructor yells, “Shit people, you are not trying!!”  Not my kind of morning.  I was really glad to be walking in the opposite direction. (As my friends can attest, extreme exercise makes me uncomfortable.)

SoWa is equipped with all the goods you could ever need. Fresh dripped coffee from Cover Food Truck;  egg, arugula, green apple on iggy’s bread from Lefty’s Silver Cart.  If you are really hungry you can pick up  also have cupcakes from the Cupcakory, hotdogs from Boston Speed Dog, and Buckwheat noodles and veggies from Bon Me Truck.  If you love food trucks, you MUST visit, because they are EVERYWHERE.

We met some really cool people with amazing products. Not only does SoWa have organic produce, flowers, breads, cheeses, and meats, all  from local farms, but they also have a ridiculous amount of material goods such as handmade children’s clothes, chenille shower curtains and robes, gorgeous kaftans that were out of my 1 dollar budget, modern printed pillows, and handmade soaps! (Mrs. Meyers soaps had a booth with two porcelain sinks!)

The coolest part about this market is that it’s eclectic, but everything works together. It’s big, but not too overwhelming that you can’t navigate it.  It has this natural, welcoming feeling, while having some really primo products. It also has that home grown appeal, which I love.   All in all, we left stuffed with food, and weighed down in produce, business cards, samples and  motivation.

buyer notes:

If you love pure soaps, these are the best! Lathergy

Cute, hand-sewn baby shoes and bibs, visit Little Green Bag.

Really good roasted nuts. Fastachi

Oh, and some nice stranger commented on my ability to multi task while drinking coffee, navigating a stroller, and a dog, down the aisles.   I thank you again.
